Narangba Bowls Club was the venue for Brisbane Northside Arm Bowlers Association Inc on Sunday 14th November 2021 and it was a beautiful day.

We had a field of 26 at this event. We had players from 15 Clubs in attendance Sandgate, Bramble Bay, Pine Rivers, Northern Suburbs, Toombul, Ferny Grove, Glasshouse, Chermside, Kallangur, Victoria Point, Scarborough, Hamilton, Narangba, Samford, Maleny and Caboolture Lakes.

The winners of our 2x4x2 Pairs Event with a 2 + 11 were Tony Watson (Bramble Bay) and Dianne Keogh (Sandgate). Runners-Up were Warren Blackbourne (Glasshouse) and Glenn Norton (Ferny Grove). Unfortunately, Geoff Hankinson (Chermside) had to retire ill after part of the first game and it was good to have Carol James available to fill in. We wish Hanko a speedy recovery.

The winners of our 3 Bowls Pairs with a 2 + 27 were Brian Armstrong (Kallangur) and Derek Bone (Pine Rivers). Runners Up were Carol James (Narangba) and Tom Harris (Chermside).

Overall winners for the day were Brian Armstrong (Kallangur) and Derek Bone (Pine Rivers) with a 4 + 28. Runners Up were Warren Blackbourne (Glasshouse) and Glenn Norton (Ferny Grove) with a 4 + 12.

We also had a triples match this month and the winners of the Triples were Gwen McVeigh (Caboolture Lakes), Jim Lindsay (Caboolture Lakes) and Peter Kanowski (Kallangur) with a 2 + 1. Very close contest with these two teams all day.

It was a great turn out and our numbers were definitely up on the norm for this year.

I would like to thank Narangba Bowls Club for their hospitality and the ham and salad they provided for lunch. We will be back in 2022.
