16th August 2020 – Narangba Bowls Club

Narangba Bowls Club was the venue for Brisbane Northside Arm Bowlers Association Inc on Sunday 16th August 2020 and it was a really good day out … A bit windy but good. We had 22 players from 10 Clubs competing. We had players from Woodford, Kallangur, Red Hill, Glasshouse, Gatton, Pine Rivers, Caboolture Lakes, Scarborough, Chermside, and Narangba competing. It was a great effort from all who attended!

Glenn Norton (Red Hill) and Warren Blackbourne (Glasshouse) were the winners of our 2x4x2 Pairs Event with a 2 + 6 and Runners up were Gwen McVeigh (Kallangur) and Shirley Hennessy (Kallangur) with 2 + 3. It was a hard fought competition once again.

Glenn Norton (Red Hill) and Warren Blackbourne (Glasshouse) were the winners of our 3 Bowls Pairs with a 2 + 14 and Runners Up were Dave James (Narangba) and Judy Wyman (Caboolture Lakes) with a 2 + 12. Another tight game.

We also had a Triples match today and the winners were Vic McCullough (Woodford), Peter Kanowski (Kallangur) and Ross Knight (Gatton) with a 4 + 19.

Overall winners for the day were Glenn Norton (Red Hill) and Warren Blackbourne (Glasshouse) with a 4 + 20 and Runners Up were Vic McCullough (Woodford), Peter Kanowski (Kallangur) and Ross Knight (Gatton) with a 4 + 19. Well played to everyone involved.

There were a lot of closely fought games.

I would like to thank Narangba Bowls Club for their hospitality and the lovely morning tea they put on for us. Nev Revrie has booked us for next year already, so we will definitely be back to Narangba in 2021.

A big thanks to all of our raffle sponsors.
